Down to Earth Yoga (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates dte-yoga.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect as little as possible, and we do not sell your personal information.

Information You Give Us

Email address. If you sign up for our mailing list, we collect the email address you enter. We use it to send studio news, schedule changes, and event announcements. Sign-ups are stored in our own website database on our web host’s servers.

Comments. If you comment on a post, we collect your name, email address, comment text, your IP address, and your browser user-agent string. Comments are screened for spam by Akismet, a service operated by Automattic Inc.; this screening sends the comment and its metadata to Automattic. See Automattic’s privacy policy.

Messages you send us. If you email us directly, we keep that correspondence so we can respond and follow up.

Information Collected Automatically

Analytics — only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-EJMC0QFM0S) to understand how people use the site so we can improve it. Google Analytics does not load and sets no cookies until you click “Accept” on our consent banner. If you decline, no analytics data is collected and no connection to Google is made.

When enabled, Google Analytics collects pages viewed, approximate location derived from a truncated IP address, device and browser type, and referring site. This data is processed by Google LLC. See Google’s Privacy Policy. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to block Google Analytics on every site you visit.

Security logs. Our security plugin (Wordfence) records IP addresses and request details to detect and block malicious traffic. These logs exist to protect the site and are not used for marketing.

Server logs. Our web host keeps standard access logs, including IP addresses, as part of normal server operation.

Embedded Content From Other Sites

Our site displays an Instagram feed. Images and related resources are loaded from Instagram’s servers (Meta Platforms, Inc.), which means Instagram may receive your IP address and set its own cookies. See Instagram’s privacy policy.

Articles may embed or link to content from other websites. Those sites collect information in the same way any site you visit directly would, and their own privacy policies apply.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to operate the site and to remember your consent choice. Analytics cookies are set only after you accept them. For the full list and to change your choice at any time, see our Cookie Policy.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We disclose information only to the service providers named in this policy (our web host, Google, Automattic, and Meta/Instagram) so they can perform their function, or where we are legally required to do so.

How Long We Keep It

Mailing list sign-ups are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove you. Comments and their metadata are kept indefinitely so follow-up replies stay readable. Security and server logs rotate on our host’s normal schedule.

Your Rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop emailing you. To make a request, email info@dte-yoga.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

California residents. Under the CCPA/CPRA you have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share personal information. You may use the same email address to make a request, and you may designate an authorized agent to act for you.

Children

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
