If you can Cease all restless activity, your integral nature will appear.

The Seven Spiritual Laws of Yoga; Deepak Chopra, & David Simon

This is a beautiful guide to better understand the healing of Body,Mind, and Spirit.20140728_065004

Sunday- Law of Pure Potentiality: The silent ever present witness is your true self.

MondayLaw of Giving and Receiving: The most important thing is the intention behind your giving and receiving

Tuesday- The Law of Karma: When we consciously  choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

Wednesday- The law of least effort: If you look at the ebb and flow of the tides, the blossoming of a flower,or the movement of the starts, you do not see nature straining.

Thursday- The law of Intention and Desire: If you want to grow something stronger in your life, direct more of your attention to it. If you want something to diminish in your life, withdraw your attention from it.

Friday- The Law of Detachment: Unfortunately, whenever your happiness is based upon something other than your true self, insecurity arises. According to the principles of yoga, the only true security comes from your willingness to embrace the unknown, the realm of uncertainty. Being open to what is happening rather than trying to control how things unfold, you experience the excitement, adventure, exhilaration, and mystery of life.

Saturday- The Law of Dharma: To be in dharma, your life force must flow effortlessly without interference. There three major components to this law. The first is that your ultimate purpose is to discover your higher self. The second is to acknowledge and express your unique talents. The third component of dharma is serving others.

Mirrors of Consciousness

flooded-lake-mountains-3245-528x350 Understanding of the self only arises in relationship,in watching yourself in relationship to people, ideas, and things,to trees, the earth, and the world around you and within you. Relationship is the mirror in which the self is revealed.

The Joy of Love for All Beings

Yoga takes both emotional and the Spiritual experience of love down into the deepest recesses of the body, and marries it with each cell, illuminating the entire being. Then love reveals itself, not as a duty, not as a rare achievement, not as emotion only, nor even as the highest form of spiritual knowledge, but as the essential glowing energy of life.

Dear Body

blur-flowers-nature-471-526x350Dear Body,

Today I want to let you know how much I thank you for having been with me for so long during the many paths of my life. I have not always given you the attention, the love, or simply the respect that you deserve. Other times I have ignored you, mistreated you, bludgeoned you with indifferent looks, doubting silences, violent reproaches. You are the companion I most abused and most betrayed.

Today I am touched as I discover you, with hidden scars, your weariness, your potential and your love for me. I find myself loving you, feeling like cuddling you, giving you something good. I feel like giving you special gifts, drawing flowers on your skin, offering you some Mozart, introducing you to the laughter of the sun, the dreams of the stars.

Dear Body, I want to tell you that I am faithful to you, I am grateful to you, that I accept your love. Yes, I have discovered that you take care of me, attend with utmost attention to all my life happenings. You are my most dearest, most treasured friend. I will never forget you. Thank you for serving me each day of my life. We will grow old together, and whatever happens, we will reach the end of our life together.

Meanwhile, I have some cool stuff coming in February.  For one, Nick Atlas will be hosting a Yoga Sleep Therapy workshop on Saturday the 28th.  Save the date!

Yoga Humor

Two men meet on the street.
One asks the other: “Hi, how are you?”
The other one replies: “I’m fine, thanks.”
“And how’s your son? Is he still unemployed?”
“Yes, he is. But he is meditating now.”
“Meditating? What’s that?”
“I don’t know. But it’s better than sitting around and doing nothing!”
